Fix Journaler Settings
Making sure that the Currency, Tax Rate & Data Exports Settings are correct.
When you first sign up to Journaler and start your trial, make sure to choose the plan that works best for you, as you only get your 30 day trial once, we allow you to test any of our packages for FREE.
After that, head to the Settings page and update all your details as demonstrated below:
It is important to note that some significant settings must be set, this includes:
Default Currency - you can choose a default currency through your settings, this is particularly important for the following reasons:
Viewing wallet balances and transactions, they will always appear in the selected default currency. All the conversion rates and CSV file exports will also be displayed in the default currency value.
For Xero integration, your default currency in Journaler needs to match. If you find your exports failing, it could be due to that reason.
NOTE: You can change the currency that you are viewing your wallets or transactions for individual pages, but that change is temporary and next time you go back to view it, it will revert back to your default currency.
Tax Rate must be updated by you when you first sign up. You can modify it at any point, it is important to check that it matches with what tax rate you fall under based on individual circumstance. Therefore, please make sure you read our warnings with care.
In Journaler. Below is the screen from the Import Exchange Wallet data that will remind you to go back to your settings and check your tax rate:
